Goodreads Summary: Miss Harriet Peabody dreams of the day she can open up a shop selling refashioned gowns to independent working women like herself. Unfortunately, when an errand for her millinery shop job goes sadly awry due to a difficult customer, she finds herself out of an income.
Mr. Oliver Addleshaw is on the verge of his biggest business deal yet when he learns his potential partner prefers to deal with men who are settled down and wed. When Oliver witnesses his ex not-quite-fiancé cause the hapless Harriet to lose her job, he tries to make it up to her by enlisting her help in making a good impression on his business partner.
Harriet quickly finds her love of fashion can’t make her fashionable. She’ll never truly fit into Oliver’s world, but just as she’s ready to call off the fake relationship, fancy dinners, and elegant balls, a threat from her past forces both Oliver and Harriet to discover that love can come in the most surprising packages.

Harriet is a working class woman who dreams of owning her own shop but pays the bills making hats for someone else. Everything starts to change on her birthday when she’s asked to make an important delivery to a very picky customer. The delivery does not go as planned and Harriet finds herself defending herself against a loose cannon of a woman who promptly gets her fired. The one good thing to come from this ordeal is the crazy ladies soon to be ex fiance feels bad about the ordeal and hires her to help him impress a business partner. All Harriet has to do is act the part which is not as easy as it sounds.

Oliver is rich and gets what he wants. He finds Harriet refreshing and the answer to his woman problems. He pays her to attend some social events and he does not have to worry about finding a wife. But Harriet is anything but an aristocrat and the harder she tries to blend in the more she stands out and somewhere in all the mishaps love starts to bloom.

What I liked: This was a great book. I found myself laughing out loud a ton as I was reading. Harriet had spunk and was not afraid to show it. She is your middle class working woman who finds herself on the arm of a very handsome rich man and boy do the sparks fly. There is also a degree of mystery and suspense in the plot which leads to an interesting ending.

What I didn’t like: As funny as the scene where Harriet delivered the hats to the crazy woman was it was way over the top and not overly believable.  The ending also was kind of over the top. It had an air of surprise for sure but to me took away some of the unique aspects of the relationship between Harriet and Oliver.

Overall I loved this book and I can’t wait to see where this series goes. This book was downright funny and I loved that. I would highly recommend this book and author.
