Series: Romancing America
Goodreads Summery: Head to the majestic Northwest where logging history comes to life in four Christmas romances. Insecurity brings a logger and a young woman together, but will a “perfect” sister tear them apart? Will the dangers of the woods derail a young couple’s hopes and their chance at love? Amid town gossip, can a work-focused sawmiller win the heart of a prim-and-proper heiress? Will second thoughts have a sentimental girl and a hardhearted carpenter losing love?
Four young ladies in a sawmill town find love in this enjoyable book. In the first story Anna craves acceptances for who she is tom boy that she may be. Jeremiah is attracted to Anna but thinks her sister would be the proper choice will love win out? In the 2nd story we meet Emma who only wants her brother to be safe but will the seemingly reckless log train engineer win her heart? Story number three is about Larkin who is in love with E.V and can’t figure out why he does not ask her to marry him. The finally story is about Natalie who is finally 18 and able to court. Now if Willum would just do the honors!
This is another good installment to the Romancing America line.
What I liked: I liked how the stories flowed together. They went in order and also the other characters made small appearances at times so it felt more like one book not just four short stories. I enjoyed all the stories for the most part.
What I did not like: The girls where over all very young in this book 18 or a little older. I know that back in that time most people married young but there where a few times I wanted to tell one of them to grow up. It was not annoying enough not to like the book but just something I noticed. Also there was one female character who caused some trouble in the first 3 stories and I admit I was hoping she would be the 4th story and she might find happiness. It did not work out that way but the way the book was going I though she might get her own story.
Over all a good read. The characters where well written and the storylines interesting. If you’re a fan of this series I recommend this book or if you just like historical romance check this book out.
