Goodreads Summery: No one steps on Archer land. Not if they value their life. But when Meredith Hayes overhears a lethal plot to burn the Archer brothers off their ranch, a twelve-year-old debt compels her to take the risk.
Fourteen years of constant vigilance hardens a man. Yet when Travis Archer confronts a female trespasser with the same vivid blue eyes as the courageous young girl he once aided, he can’t bring himself to send her away. And when an act of sacrifice leaves her injured and her reputation in shreds, gratitude and guilt send him riding to her rescue once again.
Four brothers. Four straws. One bride. Despite the fact that Travis is no longer the gallant youth Meredith once dreamed about, she determines to stand by his side against the enemy that threatens them both. But will love ever be hers? Or will Travis always see her merely as a short-straw bride?

10 years ago Meredith took a dare to retrieve her lunch pail from Archer land and ended up face to face with an Archer. Travis saved her that day and Meredith has had a crush on him ever since. Now Meredith finds herself faced with marring a man she does not love and finds out that man is planning to do something bad to the Archers land. Meredith feels she has to warn Travis. She soon finds herself staring down the barrel of his gun into those handsome eyes that she remembers so well.

Travis can not believe this crazy woman is the same blue eyed beauty he remembers. The next thing Travis knows she is helping protect his homestead and she ends up hurt and even crazier due to her uncles demands his wife! Will these two strong willed people find love or will Meredith be nothing but a short-straw bride?

I loved this book!! I could have read this book in one sitting if such things as children and sleep had not gotten in the way. Smile with tongue out This is the 3rd book I have read by this author and she has a winner on her hands!

What I liked: I loved it all! The characters, storyline all well written and told. Meredith was a strong willed, head strong woman and I want to be her friend! Travis came across gruff but he was a man with a heart. Travis has 3 brothers and even though they where more supporting characters the reader still got a feel for their personality without over shadowing Travis. The same can be said for Cassie, Meredith’s cousin.

What I did not like: The book ended.. Okay being a little silly but really there was nothing that I did not like in this book.

Over all this was a fun read and I did not want it to end. This book definitely gets my
