The Wonder of Your Love by Beth Wiseman

Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Series: Land of Canaan(Book 2)

Goodreads Summery: Settling in to her new life in Canaan, Colorado, Katie Ann Stoltzfus gives birth to a beautiful baby boy. The boy’s father – her estranged husband – died before their son is born. Despite his infidelities, Ivan was her one true love. She mourns his loss, vows never to trust another man, and resolves to fill the role of both mother and father to her son.

Then Eli Detweiler arrives in Canaan from Middlefield, Ohio, to attend his niece’s wedding. He’s been raising his kids alone in Middlefield since his wife’s death fifteen years ago. Now each child is married, so Eli looks forward to living a less-structured life-and eating shoofly pie for breakfast every morning. There’s no one to care for except himself.

When a meddling-but good-hearted-Englisch woman plays matchmaker for Katie Ann and Eli, they find themselves facing an unexpected, hopeful future…brought together by God’s wondrous love.

Katie loves her baby boy she never thought she was going to be able to have a child but its also a little bitter sweet because her husband left her before she even knew she was expecting and he then was killed in an accident before she told him. She does not figure she will ever find a man to love again and works hard to raise her son on her own with the help of her family. Eli is an empty nester with all his kids starting family’s of their own. He goes to Canaan for a wedding and meets Katie. He finds himself attracted to Katie but has no interest in raising more kids and is excited to do things for himself not take care of others like he has been doing for years. Will Eli and Katie over come what stand between them to find true love again?

I enjoyed this book but found it a little slow in places. It was nice to finally give Katie a happy ending after reading about her in the last book and even in the series before. I liked how these two characters took the time to get to know each other and not fall in love over night. It made the story seem more real. I am really enjoying this series so far and can’t wait for the next book!

This book will be released Oct 4th!
